Brownfields - Main Page
NRPC’s Brownfields program is intended to advance economic development, enhance environmental quality, and protect public health by helping to facilitate the redevelopment of vacant or underutilized Brownfield sites into new productive uses including commercial development, housing, and public facilities.
Since 2004, NRPC has operated a robust Brownfields Assessment program through grant funding awarded by the US EPA. The program covers 100% of the cost of conducting environmental assessments and reuse planning on qualifying sites in the NRPC Region.
In 2025, the NRPC Foundation (NRPCF) was awarded a $1 million grant to establish a Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund (RLF). NRPCF has partnered with NRPC to administer the grant as part of our Brownfields Program. The RLF provides advantageous financing for the clean-up of qualifying sites anywhere in New Hampshire with a priority on sites within the NRPC Region.
